Regular updates to SuperShow 8000 have not occured in three years. This was due to several different personal aspects, including jobs, radio, school & death. On our tenth anniversary, get ready to play.
Hello everyone and welcome to Xanfan's SuperShow 8000. I know that many of you all are going crazy with the lack of updates to the site as of late. Many times, I've said that I was going to give you a certain update at a specific time, only to disappoint the viewers. In fact, the other day I was thinking to myself that I might end up shutting the page down for good, and just keep it officially as an archive as it were. But the funny thing, is that everytime I make that kind of decision, something happens that makes me get all "gung ho" about getting a relaunch off the ground, and sure enough, it happened once again today.
The first thing that made me want to get the website off the ground once again, was that I am learning more and more about the new, current version of "Ruck Zuck" that is currently airing on Tele5 in Germany. As many of you know, the series ended a few years ago. The show was picked up once again, with a new set, new graphics (so long Amiga!), and even a part time new host. (Bendel is still on the series though, as does the original 1986 "Hot Streak" music.) This was the first reason for the last relaunch wanting, but again, it went downhill due to other things going on in my life. However, today, I learned about another thing that is going to happen that got me all "gung ho" once again.
I learned of a new version of "Press Your Luck" that is scheduled to debut in September, 2005. Unfortunately, just like "Druck Gein Gluck" from Germany, this version will not be in English. This time around, the series is debuting in Mexico, in a Spanish language format. The good news on this however, is that the program will be available nationwide in the United States, as the Univision Network is planning to air the show, starting one week after its debut in Mexico. This means that I'll have full access to the show when it airs, and will be able to offer some kind of coverage about it on the site. It's something I'm looking forward to, and thus, I'm hoping to finally get some new material out there.
Also being planned for the relaunch, is a page devoted to the various versions of "Sale Of The Century", from the USA, UK, and Australia. At this moment, I'm not exactly sure what will be on the pages myself, but it will be interesting to learn together. I'm also planning to put out a major update to the "Wipeout" section, which as you know was pretty much bare bones from when I uploaded it initially. Again, not sure on what to expect myself, but it should be cool.
I want to take this time to thank everyone who has been making good use of this website over the last 30 months with no update. I was actually shocked to find that many of you out there still access the site regularly. Privately, it's been busy, with work, school, trying to start a small radio career. Hopefully my online presence will return with welcomed arms. See ya in a few weeks!
