| KINDER RUCK ZUCK |
With the success of "Ruck Zuck" on the Tele5 network in Germany, the producers decided to do something with the format that had never been done before. That being, having a children's version of the show on the air! You might be thinking to yourself, "Damn. The game is hard as it is for adults! How are children going to be able to understand the object of the game?" Sure enough, the show went on the air in 1992, and while it wasn't nearly as successful as the adult presuccessor, the show was put together well, and the children played the game just as well. Because this was a kids edition, obviously, some changes to the format had to be made. There weren't that many changes, however, I will discuss them breifly here. The first change was in the host. While Werner and Jochen were great at keeping the adult version going, host Desiree Nosbusch took their place for Kinder Ruck Zuck. Desiree was a well known actress in her own right over in Germany, and she was fantastic with the kids. The kids seems to have fun with her in control, and I am sure that she felt the same way. And as any true game show fan knows, it is the hosts abilities that can help a show greatly. The main game play was exactly the same as the adult version. 3 rounds of play, each player trying to get the word said down the line without repeating a key word or phrase in the meantime. The point values were also exactly the same here. For Kinder Ruck Zuck, it was the bonus round that had the biggest change. Instead of playing multiple rounds and each player having only 5 seconds to say the words that the captain said pertained to the subject, it was in fact totally reversed. One teammate wore the headphones in the bonus round, while each of the 4 remaining players gave Desiree a word that described the subject. After all 4 words were spoken, the player was brought back. He or she had 15 seconds to say as many words as possible, in hopes of hitting the nails on the heads of their teammates and win the prize... ...Oh yeah. And they also thought that a possible prize of DM55.000 was a little much, so the kids will have to settle for a trip to Euro Disneyland. If you had any episodes of Kinder Ruck Zuck, other than the one I have in my collection, please try to set up a trade with me. Send me an email! |
